Refund policy
7-Day Change of Mind Policy
We offer a 7-day change-of-mind policy, which means you have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return for store credit. We do not offer cash refunds for change of mind.
To be eligible for a change-of-mind return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
To start a return, contact us at hello@meldessentials.com. Please note that accepted returns will need to be sent to our NZ business address. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
Please note: Customers are responsible for return shipping costs on change-of-mind returns.
Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items
Unfortunately, we cannot accept change-of-mind returns on sale items, clearance products, or gift cards.
Damages, Defects, and Your Rights Under NZ Law
Our change-of-mind policy does not affect or limit your legal rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA).
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately at hello@meldessentials.com if the item is defective, damaged, or if you receive the wrong item. If a product is faulty or fails to meet a CGA guarantee, we will fulfill our statutory obligations regardless of the 7-day change-of-mind window:

Minor Faults: We may choose to repair, replace, or refund the item within a reasonable time.

Substantial Faults: You may choose between a full refund (to your original payment method) or a replacement.

For faulty or incorrectly sent items, we will cover or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs.
Store Credit & Exchanges
Once your change-of-mind return is received and inspected, we will issue your store credit via email. If you wish to exchange an item, the fastest way is to return the item for store credit and use that credit to place a new order.
